At the interface of the arts, culture and digital technology, an original research field has emerged: eCulture – the mediation of cultural expressions, knowledge and experiences across digital media. eCulture environments should enable people to find, use, enrich, create and share cultural content and knowledge.

Such spaces – virtual and hybrid environments – offer semantic-based access to cultural information, expressions and experiences, advanced tools for exploring and using cultural content, and the opportunity to form communities around interesting topics and discussions.

The eCulture Group aims to inform and improve policy decisions and technology development and adoption that advance the mediation of Europe’s cultural content and knowledge across digital environments.
