Since the very beginning of their artistic and scientific activity they have used computer both as a tool and medium. Their experimental research focuses on the interactivity in art and knowledge environment, as well as on the expanded and networked space used as interface. Learning new things from old things is one of the working methods applied to new media that they have invented for their use. Their ideas concerning visual presentation of information and computer-oriented models of navigation and dialogue have for twenty years now influenced the development of modern technoculture in the context of interactivity. The work of Monika Fleischmann & Wolfgang Strauss has earned them a Golden Nica of Prix Ars Electronica and numerous other honorary awards, and is constantly archived by ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany.
http://www.eculturefactory.de/CMS/index.php?id=792 netzspannung.org at ZKM
The handing over of netzspannung.org

Media Art Archive at ZKM | Center for Art & Media Technology

On Wednesday, December the 22nd 2010 the Fraunhofer IAIS handed over the media art platform “netzspannung.org” to the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. Digital interactive communication includes the generation of data and structuring of information, the digital storing and reciprocal transfer (exchange), access and distribution of data between people or “intelligent” objects. This form of communication is interactive or participatory. Digital interactivity is a new cultural technique whose concept and design determines success or failure of communication. The HCI Summer Camp deals with the history of human-computer-interaction, with analysis and development of new concepts, with interactive staging and design of the interface.
The problem is searching and finding in timelines. The goal is to provide an interface design for the presentation of the history of the interface, such as an interactive timeline as a multi-track machine, which can be equipped by the users with their own information.

Duration 29.06-30.07.2009
Location Digital Media, 28199 Bremen, Flughafenallee 10
Registration Monika Fleischmann & Wolfgang Strauss
eMail artnetwork(at)fleischmann-strauss.de, http://fleischmann-strauss.de

Dauer 29.06-30.07.2009
Ort Digitale Medien, 28199 Bremen, Flughafenallee 10
Anmeldung Monika Fleischmann & Wolfgang Strauss
eMail artnetwork(at)fleischmann-strauss.de, http://fleischmann-strauss.de
